1. This paper consists of sections A, B and  C with a total of  thirteen (13) questions .
2. Answer all questions in section A, and two (5) questions from section B and two questions from section  C.
3. Question 3 and 4 are Compulsory.
4. Cellular phones, Bibles and any unathorized materials are not allowed in the examination room.
5. Write your Examination Number on every page of your answer booklet (s)

SECTION A (25 marks)

Answer all questions in this section

1. Choose the correct answer from among the given alternatives and write its letter in the answer booklet(s) provided.

(i) As human beings, how do we differ from the rest of animals indicated in the creation story (Genesis 1:1-2:25)?

2. It is said that all creatures including human beings were equally blessed by God. Justify the statement showing how God had blessed them. 
3. In your opinion, what human deeds or behaviour do you think is against God's blessings for their multiplication? (Give one point).

4. According to Acts 9:1-31, Saul had permission of going to different places so as to bring both men and women to Jerusalem for persecution.

1. What happened to him when he was near Damascus?
2. In Damascus, Saul suffered for three days until Ananias was sent to help him. Identify three sufferings that Saul experienced. 
3. What did Jesus mean by asking Saul, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

5. The Pharisees added many rules to the Law of Moses; however, they insisted more on three laws about how to behave in their community.

3. Basing on the event, why do you think the parents should bring the children to Jesus?

8. Luke 22:66-23:26, portrays the way in which leaders fail to uphold justice in the society.

1. List down categories of people who acted as judges when the assembly held Jesus into custody. 
2. As a reader of the Bible, show how Jesus is wrongly accused in our real life situations. 
3. Leaders‟ failure to uphold justice in the society may lead to mob justice. Analyse the socio-economic effects of mob justice in your society.

1. Briefly explain the story behind the quotation.

10. Luke 8:1-15 where there is a detailed account of the parable of the sower.

1. Summarise the parable in your own words.
2. what do the words “sower,” “seed” and “soil” stand for in the parable of the sower which you have summarised? 
3. Why is the parable relevant to Christian life today? 

SECTION C ( 30 marks)

Answer two (2) questions from this section

11. Refer to the story of Abram and Lot separating because of strife of their herdsmen recorded in the book of Genesis 13:1-18, to show how they can help the society live in peace and harmony.

12. After the entire nation had crossed the Jordan, the Lord ordered Joshua to choose twelve men from each tribe and instructed them to take twelve stones from the midst of Jordan, where priests‟ feet 58 stood (Joshua 4:1-24). In four points, explain the meaning of Joshua‟s instruction of taking twelve stones.

13. In Acts 8 and 9 we read how persecution of the disciples enabled the word of God to be preached from Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria. Those who had been scattered went about preaching the word of God. Analyse the persecutions facing the church today by giving four relevant points.
